BOSTON (November 3, 2025) – Boston Senior Home Care, in partnership with ARCHANGELS, has been awarded a $90,000 grant as part of the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s $400,000 statewide initiative to strengthen support for unpaid family caregivers across the city of Boston. The funding will help reach more caregivers and expand access to financial, emotional, and respite support through Boston Senior Home Care’s Caregiver Solutions program.

Administered by the Executive Office of Aging & Independence (AGE) and funded through the Administration for Community Living (ACL), the program supports innovative, community-based efforts to ease the financial and emotional burdens on caregivers, the often-invisible backbone of home- and community-based services.

Boston Senior Home Care was one of five community-based organizations selected to receive funding through this competitive grant program. In partnership with ARCHANGELS, Boston Senior Home Care will expand its outreach and education to caregivers, enabling them to access the services and supports they need to care for their loved ones and themselves.

“Family caregivers give so much of themselves to ensure that loved ones can live with comfort and dignity,” said Meg Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of Boston Senior Home Care. “Through this grant, we will expand our collaboration with ARCHANGELS to reach more caregivers, understand their experiences, and provide the supports they need to sustain their vital role in our communities.”

Through this funding, Boston Senior Home Care and ARCHANGELS will advance Any Care Counts – Massachusetts, a data-driven approach designed to recognize, support, and empower unpaid caregivers. Using ARCHANGELS’ Caregiver Intensity Index™, the initiative helps individuals assess the emotional, financial, and logistical intensity of their caregiving experience. It connects them to resources that can make a difference, including BSHC’s Caregiver Solutions program, which provides counseling, respite, and financial navigation supports.

“Caring for others is cool,” said Alexandra Drane, Co-Founder and CEO of ARCHANGELS. “Caring for others in collaboration with the Commonwealth, and the rock stars of Boston Senior Home Care? SOUL FILLING. Unpaid caregivers serve as the backbones of our families, our communities, and our states. They’re also usually the last to seek support because they’re so gorgeously focused on supporting others so finding them, validating the intensity of their reality, and matching them to the support that already exists in their communities is a win-win for all, and we are bowing in appreciation to the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Executive Office of Aging & Independence for letting us be a part of this effort.”

Massachusetts was one of only four states selected to receive federal funding to advance the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, underscoring the state’s leadership in aging policy and caregiver support.

Together, Boston Senior Home Care and ARCHANGELS aim to bring caregiving “out of the shadows” helping individuals recognize themselves as caregivers, access essential services, and feel empowered in their caregiving roles.
