BOSTON–October 19, 2026 — Boston Senior Home Care (BSHC), a private nonprofit Aging Services Access Point that helps older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers access home- and community-based services and supports, announced that Alicia Gomez, Chief Operations Officer, has been appointed to the Governor’s Special Advisory Commission on Disability Policy by Governor Maura Healey.

Ms. Gomez’ appointment reflects her extensive experience as a healthcare leader and change agent in the healthcare industry. A former case manager at Age Span, Alicia’s healthcare career includes previous leadership roles with Lawrence General Hospital, assisting the hospital in pursuit of its Triple Aim goals, as well as the Director of Population Health Management at Connance, Inc., where she assisted in the design of a population health analytic tool identifying social determinants of health that negatively impact the health of patient populations.

“I am honored to be appointed by Governor Healey as a member of the Governor’s Special Advisory Commission on Disability Policy,” said Gomez. “Older adults and those with disabilities must be able to access a full range of programs and supports to live full lives and thrive at home and in their communities, and this Special Commission is a vehicle to give voice to those we serve by making it easier to engage and interact with services and supports that can help them. I look forward to advocating on behalf of the Boston Senior Home Care community.”

The Commission is chaired by Allan Motenko, the Massachusetts Office on Disability’s Executive Director, with members appointed by Governor Maura Healey based on recommendations from organizations that support people with disabilities. The Commission was re-established in 2025 through an Executive Order signed by Governor Healey to improve opportunities for people with disabilities, their families and advocates to provide input on policy and program development that will reduce barriers to state services.

A resident of Dracut, Massachusetts, Alicia Gomez is a Board-Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She holds an MSW from Salem State University and an MBA from Rivier University.
